Gold Coast Ferry Terminal is one of the busiest ferry terminals in Batam, serving thousands of passengers daily to Singapore and Malaysia. With ever-increasing passenger volumes, manual boarding processes became the primary bottleneck.
"We often faced long queues that frustrated passengers," says Budi Santoso, Terminal Operations Manager. "Our staff was overwhelmed checking tickets manually one by one."
Key challenges faced:
- Average boarding time of 45 minutes per vessel
- Inaccurate manifest data due to human error
- Difficulty in reporting to port authorities
- No real-time visibility for passengers
- Paper-based ticketing vulnerable to fraud
